Guest raises temporary-sign enforcement and reports Liberty Elm relocation to Common

Gail Cromwell, a guest at the Temple Historic District Commission meeting on May 27, reviewed the town’s sign rules and raised compliance concerns. Cromwell said the Temple Zoning and HDC Ordinance allows notice of a town event by temporary sign one week before the event and requires prompt removal afterward. She told commissioners they would follow up with entities who are not complying.
Cromwell also reported that the Liberty Elm will be planted in the Common after the originally selected site proved to have too much ledge to accommodate the tree. The commission did not record a formal vote on the planting location during the meeting.
