At its March 9 meeting, the Temple Select Board unanimously denied two property tax-abatement applications after reviewing recommendations from Avitar, the town's assessor.
Bill Ezell reported that Avitar recommended denying the application filed by Ducharme because the applicant did not meet the burden of proof. Ezell moved to deny the application, Ken Caisse seconded and the motion passed with all board members voting in favor. The assessors told the board that if the property owner allows a full interior inspection, Avitar may revise its recommendation.
Separately, Avitar recommended denial of the Broderick abatement application because the applicant likewise failed to meet the required burden of proof. George Willard moved to deny the Broderick application, Ken Caisse seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes do not record appeals procedures or a specific timeline for any reconsideration; the board recorded Avitar's recommendations and the motions in the public minutes.
The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. and the board's next meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2026.
