On Tuesday evening the Temple Select Board voted unanimously to award $500 from the town’s 250th Anniversary Fund to the Mansfield Public Library for a community‑read project.
Julie McAdoo presented the award-committee recommendation and told the board the committee met and approved forwarding the application. Bill Ezell moved to approve the payment, George Willard seconded, and all members voted in favor.
McAdoo also reported that the committee examined whether the fund could be used to pay individuals carrying out charitable work. According to the minutes, McAdoo’s research concluded such payments are permissible when they fund charitable purposes; the board agreed and asked the treasurer to accept similar committee recommendations going forward.
The decision commits $500 from the 250th fund to the library project; the minutes do not specify a payment date or additional award conditions. The board did not record any dissent or abstentions.
