Board sets compliance date for vacant Palm Street house near school

A board member moved to accept the recommendation but change the compliance date to the board’s January meeting date; the motion carried on roll call. The board again ordered respondents to contact the code inspector to verify compliance and reminded them of appeal rights and repeat-violation penalties.
The board’s action sets an enforceable compliance date and preserves the option to levy daily fines if the owner does not make repairs and obtain required permits.
