The Airport Advisory Committee elected board member Stan Darling as its new chairman at a meeting on June 19, 2026.
The nomination came from committee members and the motion to elect Darling was made by Robert Steenblock and seconded by Dave Mitchell. The vote passed with Robert Steenblock, Dave Mitchell, Mallory Larsen, Levi Entz and Stephen Barr recorded in favor; Stan Darling abstained. Absent from the meeting were Kirk Diers and Vic Roeder.
Committee members said they will discuss with the City Clerk whether City Council approval is required for the chair appointment. The City Clerk and the Mayor will fill two open advisory‑board seats; interested individuals are being directed to submit the standard interest form on the city website for City Clerk and Mayor review before City Council consideration.
The meeting also included routine roll call and approval of the prior meeting minutes before other agenda items were taken up. The committee adjourned at 8:52 A.M.
