Coffey County awards $611,221 HMA contract, approves striping bid at $25.77 per gallon

The commission also approved a bid from Straight-Line Striping for edge and centerline striping for Striping Project S2601-C at $25.77 per gallon for materials and application, to be paid from the Road and Bridge Fund. Chairman Mark Petterson moved the striping action based on the superintendent’s recommendation; Commissioner Steve McCurry seconded and the motion passed.
Durst provided a department update during the discussion; the minutes also record a separate discussion of Key West Cemetery with Holly Myers, but no formal cemetery action was recorded. Midwest Engineering representatives later answered questions about Public Wholesale Water District #12, but no contract award for that project is recorded in the minutes.
The contracts approved at the meeting permit the county to proceed with planned pavement and striping work; the minutes do not list bid bond details, contractor start dates or a project schedule.
