The Coffey County Commission voted June 8 to approve the 2027 Hospital Budget of $3,111,025 and the 2027 Ambulance Budget of $1,106,994 as submitted. Commissioner Steve McCurry moved the motion; Chairman Mark Petterson seconded and the motion passed.
The budgets approved for 2027 are the same amounts shown for 2026 in the meeting record. The board’s minutes record no changes to staffing levels or new programmatic line items associated with these amounts.
Separately, Secretary of State Director Mickey Edwards presented a 2027 budget request for his office of $7,500 and noted the request matches the 2026 allocation. The board listened to the presentation; no vote on the SOS request is recorded beyond the presentation in the minutes.
The commission’s approval resolves the county line-item budgets for hospital and ambulance funding for the coming fiscal year; the minutes do not record further adjustments or implementation steps. The board scheduled warrant and voucher signing for June 29, 2026, following the regular meeting.
