"If we go over a 6% error rate, we could be required to pay 5 to 15% of our SNAP benefit cost," staff said, noting that for a county the size of Kenosha that exposure could be tens of millions of dollars.
Committee members asked whether the work would involve field visits; Human Services said reviews are primarily paperwork‑based but could prompt follow‑up with applicants and occasional site‑visits when necessary. The committee approved the resolution to add the state‑funded positions.
