Benton County resident urges inspection of County Ditch 7, says water accumulates on his land

During the April 7 public comment period, Benton County resident Frank Legatt raised ongoing drainage concerns related to County Ditch (CD) 7, saying water accumulates on his property for extended periods and that drainage appears to flow toward Mayhew Creek rather than the ditch.
Legatt asked to meet with the officials responsible for the ditch determination, asked to be present during any site inspections and suggested he might maintain portions of the ditch himself. Commissioner Scott Johnson agreed to coordinate a site visit involving Commissioner Ed Popp, Benton County Ditch Inspector Adam Ritsche and possibly a representative from H2OverViewers; Johnson also offered to document conditions during heavy rainfall to better assess the issue.
The board did not take formal action on the complaint at the meeting; the next step is the site visit and documentation that Johnson agreed to coordinate.
