North Versailles approves bills, multiple hires, subdivision and library donation at June 18 meeting

At its June 18, 2026 meeting the North Versailles Township Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine financial and personnel actions.
Motions recorded as carried in the posted minutes included approval of the May 21 meeting minutes and authorization of bills payable: $309,281.62 from the General Fund and $14,757.96 from the Liquid Fuels Fund. The board also authorized Fire Tax payments to Crestas VFC #4 ($2,495.23 monthly) and West Wilmerding VFC ($1,560.18 monthly).
On personnel matters the board approved Officer Scott Kucic's application to enter the DROP program effective July 29, 2026; ratified hiring of summer help Laini Virag at $15.00/hour and five additional summer hires (Vincent Di Cenzo; Kaedan Sabol; Tanner Greenaway; Tanner Loya; Nathan Tucker) at $12.00/hour; ratified hiring of Kris Stitt as a dispatcher under terms of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 95 collective bargaining agreement; and approved hiring David Trunzo as a part-time code enforcement official at $19.00/hour. All personnel motions are recorded in the minutes as carried.
On development and capital-related items the board approved the Powers-Corridan subdivision at 309 & 315 Union Ave following Glenn Engineering's recommendation. The board also approved $2,795 for topography/boundary survey and mapping services at 3188 Old Fifth Avenue to support a storm and culvert project, to be performed by Allstate Mapping. The board approved a $52,000 donation to the NVT Library to be paid in two installments (50% in June and 50% in September). Finally, the board approved refunds/exonerations including a 2025 refund to Hawthorne Apartments (Lot & Block 457-S-150) in the amount of $11,265.17.
