Braxton County Board approves $21,200 MOU for digital forms and releases faculty senate allocations

At its Sept. 26 special meeting, the Braxton County Board of Education approved a one-year memorandum of understanding for a digital forms service and released the district’s FY 2025–26 faculty senate allocations.

A district staff member described the MOU with the vendor referred to in the record as "Droplet," saying the service digitizes routine forms and approvals to reduce courier and staff time. The staff member said the contract is $21,200 for a full year and that digitization has eliminated the need for a dedicated van-mail position that previously transported paper forms and signatures. "It's just needed to maintain our account," the staff member said, describing the anticipated efficiency gains.

The board moved and approved the MOU for fiscal year 2026. The staff presentation emphasized time savings for administrators and quicker turnaround on approvals.

Separately, the board approved release of the FY 2025–26 faculty senate allocations. Board members requested a breakdown by school so they could see how funds would be distributed across Birchfield, David, Flatwood, Springtown, Little Birch, Southern and the middle and high schools.

During member remarks the Chair read a letter summarizing the audit of the Braxton County Board of Education for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The Chair reported that auditors either noted no findings or that any findings had been adequately addressed by corrective action plans, and stated that "the audit file for '24 fiscal year is considered closed." Board members congratulated staff and schools, welcomed Sarah Lawson as the new county treasurer and offered brief community updates before adjourning.

The board adjourned after completing these items; no further votes were scheduled at the meeting.
