Wahoo council adopts Master Fee Schedule changes, approves event-permit ordinance first reading and hires consultant

Wahoo — The Wahoo City Council on May 12 adopted amendments to the city’s Master Fee Resolution, approved the first reading of a change to the city code governing multi-day event permits and authorized a downtown planning consultant, while tabling consideration of a state planning-grant agreement.
By motion of Council Member Ryan Ideus, seconded by Council Member Chris Rappl, the council approved Resolution No. 2026-10, which updates Attachment 1 (General Fund Fees and Charges) of the Master Fee Resolution. The resolution takes effect May 12, 2026. The changes recorded in the adopted attachments include items such as a public-records photocopy fee of $0.25 per page; liquor-licensing occupation taxes and fee classifications; a sidewalk-café permit fee of $100 per year; a beer-garden license fee of $100 per year; mobile food vendor permit fees; and event-permit fees listed as single-day $10 and multi-day $10 per day not to exceed $100 annually. The resolution also records lodging and telecommunications occupation taxes and various contractor and vehicle registration fees.
During the meeting Council Member Stuart Krejci introduced Ordinance No. 2498 to amend Title XI, Chapter 95 of the Wahoo Municipal Code to address multi-day event permit applications; Council Member Ryan Ideus seconded and the council approved the ordinance’s first reading by roll call.
Council Member Krejci moved, and Council Member Ryan Ideus seconded, approval of an agreement with JEO Consulting to lead the Downtown Revitalization Plan process; the motion passed. Separately, Council Member Shane Sweet moved, and Council Member Stuart Krejci seconded, to table approval of an agreement with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for the CCCFF Planning Grant; the council voted to table that item.
