Aurora board clears payments, budget actions and routine items including culvert payments, capital project loan and transfers

The Town of Aurora approved payments for culvert replacements, an interfund loan of $10,000 for West Falls improvements (to be repaid from New York Forward Grant proceeds), budget transfers totaling $2,500, surplus equipment disposition, designation of village lead agency for a water-study and an authorization for PEC to treat hogweed at Majors Park.
At its July 13 meeting the Town of Aurora approved a package of routine and financial items. The board approved payments to Azar for culvert work: Payment #16 of $27,697.16 for the Cornwall Road culvert replacement and Payment #13 of $20,710.06 for the Brookley Drive culvert replacement; funds will be dispersed from line H 75120 DOT 210.
The board established a capital project for West Falls improvements and recorded an interfund loan of $10,000 from the general fund to be repaid in full by Dec. 31, 2026, from reimbursement proceeds through the New York Forward Grant. Ben Garvey moved the loan; Joe McCann seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
Other budget actions included a $1,000 transfer from A1410413 (town clerk part-time contractual) to A1410401 (town clerk office supplies) and a $1,500 transfer from A1950 (taxes and assessments) to A1910 (unallocated insurances) to correct an overdrawn appropriation; both transfers were approved. The board also approved declaring an Epson Stylus NX415 printer (asset #2106) surplus from the Senior Center.
Separately, the town approved a motion designating the Village of East Aurora as the lead agency for a village water-system improvement study (allowing the village to examine required repairs). The supervisor also authorized the supervisor to sign access permitting the PEC to enter Majors Park to treat hogweed.
A request from Judge Marcello to pay court officers a three-hour minimum when providing security on court nights was also approved; the board discussed fairness to officers. In each case the transcript records voice votes with the supervisor announcing the motion carried; no roll-call tallies were read into the record.
