Bruneau-Grand View superintendent submits Dec. 31 resignation as board hears food-service deficit

Superintendent Jeff Blaser informed the Bruneau-Grand View board on Aug. 12 that he has submitted a letter of resignation effective Dec. 31, 2025. During his financial report he also reviewed July revenues and expenditures and highlighted a worsening deficit in the 290-Food Service fund.
Blaser reported the Food Service fund began July with a $69,890.30 deficit and month-to-date purchases of $4,772.35 increased the deficit to $74,662.65. The district intends to provide a grab-and-go sack lunch at Bruneau Elementary this year to maintain service while addressing the fund shortfall. Blaser also described other budget items including payments for elementary curriculum and annual insurance obligations.
Board members asked follow-up questions on policy and budget items elsewhere on the agenda; no personnel action related to the superintendent's resignation was taken at the meeting.
