Castleford board accepts resignations, opens multiple positions and adopts policies

The Castleford School District No. 417 Board of Trustees on March 19 accepted letters of resignation from Susan Pearson, Tessa Guinn, Allie Lively, Geianne Chote and Tania Luna and authorized the district to open several positions.
Trustee Kim Taylor moved to accept the resignations; Trustee Will Jaynes seconded and the motion carried, as recorded in the public minutes. The Board then approved opening multiple positions, including junior-high football coach, high-school girls basketball coach, two food-service positions, two elementary positions, two middle-school positions, 1.5 paraprofessional positions and one high-school position; the motion to open positions was moved by Kim Taylor and seconded by Will Jaynes and carried.
During the meeting trustees also adopted additional policies. Earlier in the agenda the Board voted to adopt policies numbered 1315, 1510, 2435, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 8705 and 9000; later the Board discussed policies 2470F, 2470P, 2650, 3297, 3460, 3518, 3523 and 4100 and moved to adopt policy 7215 (motion by Kim Taylor; second by Charlene Davis). The minutes list policy numbers as adopted; no textual policy changes are printed in the public minutes.
On finance and contracting items the Board accepted an E-rate proposal from Truleap (motion by Kim Taylor, seconded by Will Jaynes) and approved a motion by Trustee Charlene Davis to invest $242,262.24; Trustee Will Jaynes seconded that motion and it carried. The minutes do not specify the investment vehicle or expected return in the public record.
The Board also considered bond discussion but voted to table the matter, and scheduled a follow-up on a possible middle-school cross-country team after staff report on student interest.
Trustees moved into an executive session citing Idaho Code 74-206(1)(d) to consider records exempt from disclosure; the public minutes record a roll-call vote listing four trustees as voting yes and note the executive session began at 9:21 p.m. and the meeting reopened at 10:19 p.m. Because the executive-session statute was cited, the minutes do not disclose the substance of that portion of the meeting.
