Castleford board clears path for maintenance building removal, schedules pole removal; hires flooring contractor

On athletic infrastructure, the board discussed football lighting. Bryan brought samples of proposed light poles; Chuck Steele provided a bid of about $4,300 to remove the old poles. Minutes say the contractor expects to cut down the poles in the coming weeks and that removal will "work better the colder it is." The board also noted temporary fencing around the football field to prevent student access until work is completed.
The board approved Rocky Mountain Flooring to install carpet in the high school and middle school and to purchase additional carpet tiles to finish the elementary school (motion by Will Jaynes; second by Kim Taylor; motion carried). Fence and electric work were tabled to obtain additional quotes: the board specifically asked for three fence quotes for a seven-foot fence and more electric bids to allow fair comparison.
Transportation items: the minutes record that a new bus is expected around the end of March and that a bus-stop sign should be erected; one application to use the school bus stop had been received as of the meeting. A motion to table purchase of a district vehicle remained in effect pending further consideration.
