The Adams Central board acknowledged a long-serving staff retirement, accepted resignations and approved several recommended hires during its July meeting.
Chair thanked Lisa Crump for roughly 25 years of service in the district cafeteria after administrators reported she began as a substitute in September 2001 and went full time the following spring. "We appreciate her and her family," an administrator said, noting the role's value to the school community.
The board also accepted resignations from Haley Sowers and Robin Everett in the kindergarten area and moved forward with recommended hires: Riley Bailey (elementary special education paraprofessional), Maylee McAfee (bridal school social studies teacher), David Vogel (high school credit recovery teacher), Tanner Cooley (9th grade C team boys basketball coach), April Bloom (2nd shift custodian) and Art Ringer (2nd shift custodian). Administrators explained Art Ringer will take on evening custodial responsibilities in a new portion of the elementary building and that bringing custodial work in-house could reduce reliance on contracted cleaning teams.
The consent agenda containing these personnel items was approved by the board.
