Bull Shoals police report flags hazardous tree, K-9 grant research underway

At the Oct. 31 meeting of the Bull Shoals City Council the police report was accepted as submitted and the police chief highlighted two issues for council attention: a large tree on a private residence that he described as a public-safety hazard because the owner cannot fix it, and ongoing research into a K-9 grant of roughly $75,000 with further information expected in early December.
The police chief also said there have been recurring incidents involving squatters at a property that the department continues to monitor. The report was presented as part of department reports the council reviewed; Public Works and Planning & Zoning reports were also noted as accepted by the council during the meeting.
Mayor Carol Duss reported Fire Chief Brent Mitchell was absent and that the fire department report stands as submitted. The council accepted department reports in a single vote recorded 4–0 for the Public Works/department packet items.
