Engineer outlines water-tower maintenance plan; SCADA absence noted

Engineer Jùlian Brown told the Bull Shoals City Council that plans and specifications are being prepared for water-tower maintenance, including surface preparation (sandblasting and power washing) and painting, and that the plans will be submitted to the Health Department to allow the city to solicit bids.
"We are preparing plans and specifications to take care of the water towers surface prep, sandblasted, power washed, and painted," Brown said during the Nov. 21 meeting. He told the council the city expects to be ready to issue a contract around June and to complete maintenance by the end of summer. Brown also explained how a SCADA system works and said there is no SCADA at the master meter at this time.
No formal contract award was recorded at the meeting; Brown said the Health Department review is a next step before soliciting bids. The timeline given is an estimate and contingent on the Health Department review and the competitive-bid process.
