Finance director lays out policy priorities; board hears updates on solar, parks and July events

Finance Director Maggie Frizzell presented a prioritized list of financial policies the town should create; she and Town Manager Jessica Cyr will prepare drafts for a future work session. When Select Board member Kathy-Jean Lavoie asked whether all financial services vendors had been reviewed, Frizzell said the town administrative team had met each proposer and agreed on a preferred vendor.
Robin Irving updated the board that a solar project is scheduled for late July; the vendor will assist Transfer Station staff with a monitoring system. Jessica Cyr said replanting of the traffic circle will occur within a week. Tricia reported planting trees in Soldiers' Park; an arborist was called for trees behind Cross Park and quotes were received for Centennial Park and Colonel Town work. Rusty Scott said a rotted tree at Colonel Town should be removed promptly.
Jessica Cyr asked whether the board wanted a proclamation for the July 4th celebration; Kathy-Jean Lavoie agreed to draft one. The board listed July work session topics including a buildings update and water/sewer rates. Cyr also distributed a matrix for the board to complete in advance of her two-year anniversary.
