Bonneville Joint District will host a ribbon cutting at Bonneville High School at 5:30 p.m. tonight to mark a series of renovations the station said were paid for with funds from House Bill 521.
D 93 News’ presenter listed the improvements: parking-lot lights, HVAC upgrades, two new classrooms, new flooring in the commons and hallways, a new track in the upper gym and a new roof with skylights. The station said the public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
A head custodian who spoke to the station and identified himself as the head custodian at Rocky Mountain Middle School said the additional funding has allowed older schools to make repairs and upgrades they otherwise could not have completed. "We appreciate the money," he said. "It’s made it so we can do things that otherwise wouldn't have been possible in our school." He added the renovations have been "very beneficial for students" and help them take pride in their facilities.
The announcement did not state the total dollar amount allocated to Bonneville High or the broader capital budget for the district. D 93 News attributed the projects to HB 521; the transcript did not specify the bill’s provisions, appropriation totals, or the district’s internal allocation process.
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Bonneville High School; the public was invited by the station to attend. No formal board action or vote on these upgrades was recorded in the segment.
