Hennessey board sets Feb. 10, 2026 school election date, adopts policy updates and approves consent agenda

At its Oct. 13 meeting the Hennessey Public Schools Board of Education set the Feb. 10, 2026 annual school election (runoff April 7 if needed), approved its 2026 meeting calendar, adopted revisions to the Student Code of Conduct and Section 504 procedures, and approved a multi-item consent agenda including a counseling contract and activity-fund transfer.
Hennessey Public Schools Board of Education members on Monday night approved a set of routine and policy actions, including a resolution setting the annual school election date and adopting changes to two district policies.
At the Oct. 13 regular meeting in the district auditorium, Board President James Matousek led the vote to set the annual school election for Feb. 10, 2026, with a runoff on April 7, 2026 if required, to fill Board Office No. 1 for a five-year term. Matousek moved the resolution; Luke Lough seconded. The motion passed unanimously: Matousek, Dakota Semrad, Luke Lough, Amy Charmasson and Lance Painter voted yes.
The board also approved its schedule of regular meetings for calendar year 2026. That motion was made by Matousek and seconded by Lough and passed unanimously.
Members adopted revisions to Item 534, the Student Code of Conduct, and Item 1401, Procedures under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The policy changes were moved by Lough, seconded by Matousek, and approved 5-0. The board did not provide additional detail in the meeting on the specific language changes to the policies.
The consent agenda carried as presented. Items approved included the minutes of the Sept. 8, 2025 regular board meeting; the district financial summary and activity fund summary as of Sept. 30, 2025; purchase orders encumbrances for General Fund PO# 292–339 and Child Nutrition PO# 6–8; an activity fund transfer of $120 from High School Cheer to the Technology account for senior banners; approval of fundraisers for the 2025–26 school year; a contract with Stacy Cline, LPC, to provide counseling services to Hennessey Public Schools for 2025–26; and a revised District Capacity Report for 2025–26. The consent agenda motion was made by President James Matousek and seconded by Vice President Dakota Semrad and passed 5–0.
In other business, Superintendent’s report items included information on the Oklahoma Local Food for Schools Grant and available policy services through the Oklahoma State School Boards Association; no board action was taken on those informational items. The board adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
