Mr. May reported to the council on Feb. 2 that the Wall Road traffic-calming bid opening has concluded and that the Old Mill Road speed-hump design plan has been approved. He said the borough is preparing a joint grant application with the Borough of Brielle for a shared leaf-sweeper and that H2M, the borough’s engineering consultant, will appear at the next meeting to discuss a proposed cell tower project.
Mr. May also asked residents to report any instances of discolored water near Old Mill Road while borough staff investigate the possible cause. He thanked the Police Department for assistance removing vehicles after the recent snowstorm, which helped Public Works clear streets. Councilwoman Sara King asked questions about the timing and the removal of the kayak launch, and Mr. May provided answers during the report.
The council accepted the staff report; no formal votes were taken during the update beyond the previously recorded resolutions. The items discussed may require future council action after engineering presentations or grant decisions.
