Spring Lake Heights council approves routine budget moves, bills and recognizes Girl Scouts

At its Dec. 15 meeting the council approved consent resolutions to establish trust funds for sidewalks and trees, approved bills lists, and adopted an emergency appropriation for employee group insurance. Mayor Campion presented a proclamation to Girl Scouts Troop #1684.
The Borough Council of Spring Lake Heights approved several routine administrative actions and recognized community service on Dec. 15.
The council approved a consent agenda that included R2025-192 (membership designation for Independent Fire Co. No. 1), R2025-193 and R2025-194 (requests to establish dedicated trust-by-rider funds for sidewalks and tree replacement) and R2025-195 (transfer of 2025 municipal budget appropriations). The motions passed on a single consent vote.
Separately, the council approved Resolution R2025-196 authorizing an emergency appropriation for employee group insurance pursuant to NJSA 40A:4-46; and it approved payments of the itemized bills lists (R2025-197 and R2025-198). Those resolutions passed by recorded vote of members present.
Mayor Christopher Campion read and presented a proclamation honoring Girl Scouts Troop #1684 for earning the Bronze Award, and Council members thanked public-works, police and fire personnel for storm response during recent snowfall.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.; the minutes were signed by Borough Clerk Janine Gillis and later approved Jan. 24, 2026.
