Hilbert board switches employee coverage to Network Health to limit premium spike

The Village of Hilbert Board voted June 9 to change the employees' health insurance provider to Network Health, a move presented by Clerk Treasurer Missy Kieso as a way to reduce a near‑30% increase under the incumbent plan to roughly a 10% increase.
Kieso said she sent eight plan options to employees and that the option recommended by President Roehrig is comparable to the existing plan but with a smaller cost increase. She told the board the Village's monthly premium would increase by about $836.10 and employee contributions would rise approximately $116 a month in total under the selected plan. Current budget figures discussed at the meeting show a budgeted monthly premium of $10,800 but a current projection of $7,930 depending on enrollment.
Board members voted to approve Network Health as the new provider; supporters stressed preserving existing doctor networks while limiting the budget impact.
The decision directs staff to implement the change and to inform employees of covered providers and any enrollment choices they must make prior to the plan effective date.
