The Board of Regents used the July meeting to introduce and welcome multiple new campus leaders across the University of Wisconsin System.
UW System President Wachter introduced Eric Wilcots as interim chancellor of UW–Madison and noted Wilcots’ long service as dean of the College of Letters & Sciences and as a faculty member in astronomy. Wilcots said he was honored to assume the role and thanked predecessor Jennifer Mnookin.
President Wachter also introduced Jameson Brinkman as UW–Stevens Point’s 16th chancellor and Ed Martini as UW–Eau Claire’s ninth chancellor. Brinkman and Martini each offered brief remarks thanking colleagues and outlining their commitment to their campuses. The board also heard introductions or mentions of Amy Clark (provost, UW–River Falls), Josh Garrison (interim provost, UW–Oshkosh) and Peter DeHart (provost, UW–Whitewater).
President Weatherly and others welcomed the cohort and noted the transition work underway across multiple campuses. The introductions were ceremonial and informational and did not require board votes.
Next steps: campus leaders will continue onboarding and will participate in system governance and upcoming board engagements.
