Staff reports two CNMI regulations still not approved by Board of Healing Arms

During the Sept. 9 Kent State Board of Nursing KPR committee meeting staff reported two CNMI regulations have not been approved by the Board of Healing Arms; staff said repeated outreach to the board’s general counsel yielded no response and the committee will follow up.
Staff told the Kent State Board of Nursing KPR committee on Sept. 9 that two CNMI regulations remain unapproved by the Board of Healing Arms and that staff has not yet received the documents needed to proceed them through the Board of Nursing process.
“According to them, there’s two that have not been approved,” the staff member said, adding they have been trying to obtain the documents and have reached out to general counsel at the Board of Healing Arms without success. The staff member said they have not received a response and will continue follow-up so the regulations can be advanced through the Board of Nursing process.
Chair acknowledged the update and asked staff to report back at the next meeting if the materials arrive. No formal action was taken; the committee listed follow-up on the two unapproved CNMI regulations as an item to appear in the December packet.
The committee did not accept or reject any CNMI regulations at the Sept. 9 meeting; staff characterized the status as pending because of missing approvals from the Board of Healing Arms and incomplete coordination with external counsel.
