At its Jan. 17, 2025 meeting the Kansas Board of Accountancy ratified core CPA exam scores from Oct. 1–31, 2024, approved routine consent items and discussed administrative issues including a future software implementation that will allow printing of digital permit cards.
Aaron Dunn, CPA, opened the meeting and the Board approved the consent calendar, which included minutes from Dec. 6, 2024, certificates and permits to practice, firm registrations and the Dec. 31, 2024 financials. The Board ratified the October 2024 core exam pass scores on a motion by Julie Wondra, seconded by Marshal Hull.
Board members discussed an upcoming software implementation in spring 2026 that is expected to enable individuals and firms to print their own digital permit cards consistent with recent legislative changes; no formal action was taken. Chair Dunn later addressed proposed changes to the Uniform Accountancy Act and noted that NASBA is compiling a state-by-state grid of changes. Board member Marshal Hull asked why the Board is receiving many AIS waiver requests and proposed outreach to local universities to examine AIS course content relative to profession expectations.
The Board concluded its agenda and adjourned by motion. Executive Director Mindy Speck is recorded as present and the minutes indicate routine administrative oversight on licensing, examination and future regulatory guidance.
