At its July 28 meeting the Burden City Council adopted two code updates and approved several routine administrative measures.
Ordinance No. 411, incorporating the Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas Cities (41st Edition), was adopted on a 4-0 vote (motion by Chase Hobart; second by Chris Cannon). The council also adopted Ordinance No. 412, incorporating the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities (52nd Edition) and amending sections of the city code; that motion passed 4-0 (motion by Chris Cannon; second by Taylor Dory).
Council approved a renewal of GIS consulting services with the Midwest Assistance Program for $500 annually (motion by Chase Hobart; second by Carleta Bolack) and accepted a new copier lease proposal from Galaxie Business Equipment for a Sharp color digital copier (motion by Chris Cannon; second by Chase Hobart). The council also granted the Burden Arena Association a CMB alcohol consumption waiver for September 12'13 and a September 13 dance (motion by Chase Hobart; second by Taylor Dory). All measures recorded unanimous votes of elected members present.
