The board added a color guard sponsor/coach position to supplemental assignments with an annual stipend of $2,100; the motion by Becky Smilko was seconded by P.J. Buck and passed 7-0. After executive sessions addressing non-elected personnel matters, the board approved three hires in open session: Denise Baker as a food service worker in the cafeteria (motion by Michael Clark, seconded by Denise Signer, passed 7-0); Kylar Walker as head high school boys's basketball coach (motion by Becky Smilko, seconded by Rodney Dickens, passed 7-0); and Cassandra Jones as assistant junior high volleyball coach (motion by Denise Signer, seconded by Michael Clark). The appointment of Cassandra Jones passed 6-1, with Becky Smilko recorded as the dissenting vote.
