Children’s Cabinet webinar: Child-care zone funding reopens; applications due Aug. 25

Erica Figueroa, serving as facilitator for the Children’s Cabinet webinar on Aug. 13, asked attendees to complete a 5- to 10-minute feedback survey to help shape future "All In for Kansas Kids" systems-building webinars and said the survey link would be posted in chat.
Erica announced that "child care zone funding is back" and that applications for the second round of child-care zones are due Aug. 25; she advised prospective applicants to view a July 17 informational webinar recording and to submit an application interest form before starting the full application. Erica directed applicants with questions to Jennifer Bird Berggard (email provided in chat).
She listed upcoming events and registration details that would be posted in chat: the Parent Leadership Conference on Sept. 19 in Wichita; the Kansas Home Visiting Conference on Sept. 30 (held simultaneously in multiple locations); the Child Care and Early Education Conference on Oct. 11 in Kansas City; and the Early Childhood Recommendations Panel meeting on Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Erica also reiterated the next systems webinar is Sept. 10 (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.) and the next Children’s Cabinet meeting is Oct. 3 (9 a.m. to noon). She said recordings and links are available on the Children’s Cabinet YouTube channel and in the All In for Kansas Kids newsletter.
Erica closed by saying she would remain available for questions in chat and that the meeting resources and links had been placed in the chat for attendees to access.
