The Unified School District No. 505 Board of Education unanimously approved several personnel actions after holding multiple executive sessions on Dec. 16, 2024.
Following executive-session discussions conducted under Kansas statute 75-4319 to consider matters related to non-elected personnel and teacher negotiations, the board voted 6-0 to add $1,000 to the negotiated agreement in exchange for another year of service; the revised contract term will run through the 2025-2026 school year. The board also voted 6-0 to hire Amanda Dent as St. Paul High School's volleyball coach for the 2025-26 season.
In a separate motion the board extended Superintendent Craig Bagshaw's contract through June 2027 on a unanimous vote. The executive sessions named attendees who were permitted to remain for the closed discussions, including Superintendent Bagshaw and administrators Renee Gillard and Jolene Hall.
The board completed its business and adjourned at 8:48 PM.
The motions were made and seconded on the record; the minutes list the approving votes as 6-0. No additional salary figures or other terms of the superintendent's contract were specified in the minutes beyond the extension date.
