Unified School District No. 505 board approves property tax rate above revenue-neutral rate and adopts 2024–25 budget

Unified School District No. 505’s board held a Revenue Neutral Rate hearing and adopted the district’s 2024–25 budget during its Sept. 9, 2024 meeting.

The board conducted the Revenue Neutral Rate hearing at 7:01 PM. The RNR resolution to levy a property tax rate exceeding the revenue-neutral rate was read to the board and approved by roll call, 6–0. Later in the meeting, the budget hearing was held; there were no visitors present for the hearing.

Seth Born moved “based upon state assessment data and the district needs assessment used to identify barriers toward grade level proficiency; to adopt the 2024–2025 budget as published,” and Barbara Evans seconded. The motion to adopt the published 2024–25 budget passed, 6–0, and the hearing closed at 7:08 PM.

Board members also approved the consent agenda — minutes of Aug. 12, September bills, the August VISA bill and August activity accounts — by motion (Seth Born), second (Josh Baker) and a 6–0 vote. The meeting record shows no public comment opposed to the budget or tax action.
