Planning commission approves Grandview replat, sends proposal to city council

The Bonner Springs Planning Commission voted Feb. 25 to approve a replat of several older lots in the Grandview subdivision, creating three lots (to be named Willard's Way) and dedicating additional right of way along South 138th Street.
City staff reported the property is zoned General Residential and that the replat separates two existing residential structures onto their own lots while creating a third lot for potential single-family construction. Staff told the commission the plan had been reviewed by all necessary parties and recommended approval.
At the meeting, Commissioner Paul Zeps moved to approve the replat with staff stipulations; the motion carried on a roll-call vote. Commissioners recorded affirmative responses and the chair announced the motion passed. Staff said the replat will proceed to the City Council for final approval at its March 10 meeting.
The approval is procedural: it clears the subdivision map and dedicates right-of-way needed for future street improvements, but final construction and any building permits remain subject to normal permitting, inspections and any additional conditions the City Council may impose.
Meeting attendees did not raise substantive objections to this agenda item during discussion; staff and applicants answered a brief set of clarifying questions from commissioners before the vote.
