At its July 15 meeting the Sabaney Board of Education approved a slate of administrative and personnel items on the consent agenda, including new handbooks and collective-bargaining resolutions for the 2026–27 school year.
Board members moved and unanimously approved the exempt and staff handbooks for 2026–27 and accepted a SEA collective-bargaining resolution that, as presented by staff, carries no change to base pay (0%). The board also approved the district's first virtual-academy handbook to clarify expectations for students, parents and administrators using that alternative learning pathway.
On personnel matters, the board approved licensed hires and activity-duty assignments (section 4.1), classified hires and resignations (section 5.1–5.3), and corrections to supplemental positions and 2026–27 contracts (section 6.1–6.2). The board approved a service agreement with Northwest Ohio ESC to provide services for a student with special needs; trustees said the agreement appeared similar to prior-year arrangements.
Why it matters: These routine approvals set policy and staffing for the coming school year and finalize the district's tools for alternative instruction and bargaining compliance. The approved collective-bargaining items commit the district and the represented employees to the terms presented at the meeting.
The motions were passed on roll-call votes recorded during the meeting.
