Dan noted staff has pursued similar grants previously and that answers from grant officials were helpful in addressing earlier perceived weaknesses in the application.
Staff also noted related road work updates: the contractor for Kerr Road is expected to begin work to add turn lanes at Kerr Road and Highway 411, and staff requested consultant work to evaluate potential realignment at the Sandy Road and Hargro Margaret Road intersection to accommodate Alabama Power pole placement. The commission approved the consultant study request.
