Children's Cabinet seeks applicants for recommendations panel; childcare grant deadlines in April

Julia Gruss of CPPR announced openings for the Early Childhood Recommendations Panel, the working group that advises the All In for Kansas Kids leadership and the Kansas Children's Cabinet on early-childhood policy and funding.
"The Kansas Children's Cabinet and Trust Fund convenes, directs, and appoints the members of the recommendations panel," Gruss said. Volunteers apply to be considered and panel terms begin July 1; panel members meet monthly to examine policy, discuss ecosystem needs and vet public input for elevation to leadership bodies. Applications are open through May 2, and Gruss directed interested Kansans to the Children's Cabinet website and the webinar chat for more information and past meeting recordings.
Gruss also highlighted two funding opportunities administered through the Northwest Kansas Economic Innovation Center: a childcare multipurpose grant to allow providers flexibility to apply funds to pressing needs, and early childhood education staff retention grants intended to reduce turnover and recognize staff. The application deadline for those grants is April 25; Gruss provided a chat link for more information.
