Kelli Moore submitted a letter to the council outlining plans for the Lions Club Fall Fest. The council voted to allow the Lions Club to close streets from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., place barricades on corners at 4th and Main, alleys on 3rd near the library and Down Home Auto, and at 2nd and Main. Port‑a‑potties were approved for placement at the southeast corner of 2nd and Main Street by City Hall.
The council also approved that the Lions Club may decorate street poles for the event provided the decorations are removed the following day. A generator will be provided to Cotton O’Neil on Saturday at noon as part of the event support. The motion to approve the closures and related permissions was made by Council member Kaitlyn Ball, seconded by Council member Kevin Seals, and carried.
Council directed the Lions Club to coordinate with Main Street Bargains regarding weeds and access to property for any necessary work prior to the event.
