Bloomington board approves licenses, quarry access, land‑use permits and temporary clerk services

The Village Board approved several routine but consequential items during its June 2 meeting, including licensing, a contract for yard‑waste access, land‑use permits, a wage increase for summer help and temporary accounting services while the clerk is on FMLA.
Licenses approved included Route 35; Blue Jay’s Bar & Grill; Whispers & Thyme; Bloomington Stop & Go; Bloomington Park Concession Stand (six‑month Class B beer license); Economy Feed Mill; and Hoffman’s Court Street Property. Each license was moved and seconded in individual motions and approved by the board.
The board accepted a contract extension with WTCC to allow village use of the quarry for brush, grass clippings and other natural burnable materials at $2,000 per year. The contract prohibits treated wood or material containing nails.
Two land‑use permits were approved: Tim Senn’s application for steel siding and roofing on an addition and barn, and Aaron and Kimberly Maag’s request to add a rear deck. Both were approved by motion and unanimous vote.
Maintenance staff reported on summer employee Brenden Jentz’s performance and the board approved raising his hourly wage from $11 to $12. In closed session the board accepted an Engagement of Services agreement with Johnson Block Accounting to assist during the clerk’s FMLA and voted to maintain the clerk/treasurer’s health insurance premiums while she is on leave.
The meeting closed with suggestions for future agenda items and an adjournment motion; Trustee Dawn Drew noted she filled in for the absent clerk for the meeting record.
