Pulaski economic developer: Main Street momentum, brownfields work and housing projects move forward

She said the marketplace event is moving from the train station to Main Street, with construction to begin the following Monday and an expected market kickoff in May. Ainsley reviewed communications metrics (website launched in July 2025; 327 alerts sent; 1.2 percent signup rate on alerts) and outlined partnership work with Radford University (interns at the Pulaski Theatre), EDA incentive discussions, and regional Brownfields coordination for the Magnox site.
Council members asked about mural locations, restroom planning for marketplace and skate-park considerations; Ainsley said portable restrooms would be used for the marketplace's first year and that restroom planning is ongoing. Ainsley also asked council to support a resolution for Project Revitalize as a component of a FY27 community project funding request.
