At the Oct. 13 meeting, the Town manager announced a new auto-pay option for town utility customers and staff described a successful trial run with 18 participants.
Town manager (S2) said staff member Lindsay added the capability allowing customers to enroll in auto pay. A staff member explained how the program works: if a customer enrolls and has an outstanding balance (a "backfill"), the system will apply payment to catch up the first month so future monthly bills remain current; staff reported there have been no problems in the trial.
Separately, public works reported the town has located roughly 56 leaks since October of last year. Council thanked public-works staff for locating and correcting leaks, noting the work is important to reduce water loss.
Council later approved the consent agenda that included these reports and other routine items.
