Council approves Thompson Litton agreement to replace flood-damaged wastewater clarifier; FEMA to reimburse most costs

The Narrows Town Council voted on Jan. 12 to accept a project agreement with Thompson Litton to replace a flood-damaged primary clarifier at the town wastewater treatment plant.
Staff said the work is reimbursable by FEMA at approximately 92% and that the town may need to tap previously approved bridge loan funds to cover the remainder and up-front expenses. "That 100%. It will be the, the 92%," a staff member said when describing expected FEMA reimbursement.
The town attorney (or staff counsel) recommended a minor correction to the agreement's numbering and asked that the scope explicitly include preparation of EJCDC contract documents for the construction contract; councilors moved to accept the agreement with those edits and to authorize the manager to sign.
The motion carried on a roll-call vote.
What's next: Staff will finalize the project agreement with the requested edits, proceed with the bid package and submit required documentation for FEMA reimbursement.
