Summer facilities update: Treynor superintendent reports compressor damage, other projects on track

Superintendent Joel Beyenhof told the board July 14 that a power surge damaged compressors in the elementary school HVAC system and the district's insurer will not cover the damage because it was not weather-related. He said replacing two compressors will cost approximately $11,000 each, which the board was told is less than replacing entire units.
Beyenhof provided additional summer project updates: bathroom renovations at the elementary, progress on the field turf project that is on schedule for fall use, concrete repairs around campus, and interior and exterior painting. The board was shown photos of bathroom work. Administrators also noted that snow removal bids for 2025–26 and 2026–27 are open and due Sept. 1, 2025.
The board did not take separate action on the HVAC repair at the special meeting beyond noting the repair costs and insurance position; the meeting adjourned after the facilities report.
