Plan for 36-home development and new recreation fields presented to Treynor board

The Treynor School Board heard a presentation July 14 from civil engineer Scott Relfs of Vision Treynor Group on a 63-acre housing and recreation project that would create 36 residential lots and expanded athletic facilities.
Relfs told the board that construction of roads, utilities and grading is already underway and that lots are expected to be ready by summer 2026. He described the homes as market-rate, estimating a price range of $400,000 to $500,000. The project plan includes three new ballfields (two similarly sized and one slightly larger), a multi-use field and a reserved area for a future inclusive "miracle" field intended for adaptive or inclusive play. Parking expansion and other amenities such as a splash pad, trailhead and playground upgrades are planned but will be phased as funding becomes available.
Relfs said the development is funded in part by Tax Increment Financing; the board was told a five-year extension of the TIF was requested as a safeguard though it was not expected to be needed immediately. The board later approved a TIF extension resolution by unanimous vote.
