Treynor board approves GHAEA transfer agreement and updated Special Education DDSDP

The Treynor Community School District board unanimously approved two items related to special education at its June 9 special meeting: a transfer agreement with the Green Hills Area Education Agency (GHAEA) and the district’s updated Special Education District Developed Service Delivery Plan (DDSDP).
On a motion by Board member Mr. Stogdill, seconded by Board member Mr. Christensen, the board approved a transfer agreement that facilitates the transfer of 90% of the state’s special education dollars through the district to GHAEA for special-education services for the 2025–26 school year. The meeting record frames the agreement as a funding mechanism to streamline special-education service funding to the AEA.
The board also approved the updated DDSDP. The plan, required to be reviewed every three years, was revised by a committee of district administrators, school administrators, special education teachers, community members and parents; the updated plan was submitted to the local Area Education Agency for review and approval prior to the board action.
