Floyd County supervisors unanimously certify June 2 primary results

Floyd County supervisors acting as the Board of Canvassers voted unanimously on June 9 to certify results from the June 2 primary election, approving Resolution No. 17-26 and finding no obvious clerical errors during the canvass. The meeting was held at the Floyd County Courthouse board room.

Chair Gloria A. Carr announced the canvass and Floyd County Auditor Morrigan Montagne presented the canvass materials, including election night reports, precinct tally books and abstracts, for the board’s review. Supervisor Frank Rottinghaus moved to approve the certification; Supervisor Boyd A. Campbell recorded support and the board’s roll call recorded ayes from Carr, Campbell and Rottinghaus.

The auditor reported total turnout for the primary as 1,337 voters: 554 on the Democratic ballot and 783 on the Republican ballot. The abstracts presented included federal, state and county tallies. County winners shown in the canvass materials included Josh Mack for Board of Supervisor District 2, Boyd A. Campbell for Board of Supervisor District 3, Jessie Holm for county treasurer, Amy M. Assink for county recorder and Todd Prichard for county attorney.

The board’s certification language states that the Board of Supervisors/Board of Canvassers of Floyd County, Iowa, hereby certifies the voter turnout, the canvass and results for the Primary Election held June 2, 2026, and that no obvious clerical errors were identified during the canvass. After approving the certification, the supervisors moved to adjourn; the meeting ended at 10:53 a.m.
