Supervisors OK Learning Connection subcontract, appoint watershed representative and discuss drainage corrections

During the June 9 meeting the Floyd County Board of Supervisors approved several administrative items: a FY27 subcontract for Learning Connection program services, an appointment to a watershed management coalition, and a review process for historical drainage assessment issues.
Supervisors Rottinghaus and Campbell moved to approve a Subcontract Agreement between Floyd County and the Charles City Community School District for Learning Connection Program Services effective July 1, 2026 for FY27; the motion carried 3-0. Earlier in the meeting the board moved to appoint Tyron Steere to the Shell Rock River Watershed Management Coalition, replacing Adam Sears; that appointment also passed 3-0.
The board and Auditor Morrigan Montagne discussed correcting past drainage assessment errors and agreed to develop a process for annual assessments going forward; no formal motion or dollar figures for corrections were recorded in the meeting summary. The board also noted receipt of the 2026 County Auditor Election Certification for the June Primary and listed several items for future agendas, including additional appointments and a Motorola payment.
