Crawford County supervisors approve road reclassification, fiscal appropriations and chair stipend

The Crawford County Board of Supervisors at its July 7 meeting adopted a series of routine but consequential measures, including the reclassification of a section of F Avenue and the year’s departmental appropriations.
Clerk read the minutes and recorded the public hearing that reclassified F Avenue between 1131 F Avenue and 120th Street from an Area Service Road B to Area Service Road A; no written or oral objections were reported. The board then approved Crawford County Resolution 2026‑27 to effect the change. The clerk recorded the motion as passing unanimously.
The board also approved Resolution 2026‑28 setting appropriations per department for fiscal year 2026–27 and Resolution 2026‑29 authorizing an interfund operating transfer to the secondary roads fund. The interfund transfer included a limit and levy language specifying that transfer of general basic to secondary roads shall not exceed $228,215 and other levies referenced in the motion. Both motions passed on unanimous votes as recorded by the clerk.
Other formal actions included approval of a five‑day alcohol license for Roman Rebel LLC and a tax‑abatement approval for a new home at 1945 Deloitte Boulevard for Ethan and Samantha Simon. The board also approved Resolution 2026‑30 to restore the chair stipend at $1,250 for fiscal year 2026–27; roll‑call votes were recorded as “Aye” for the supervisors present.
No dissenting votes were recorded on the measures above. Several policy items — including possible changes to the county’s tax‑abatement policy and designation of commercial revitalization areas — were discussed but tabled for further information and will return to the agenda in two weeks.
Meeting packets and the clerk’s minutes provide the official language and numeric limits for each adopted resolution; the board moved to a closed session under Iowa Code § 21.5(1)(c) at the meeting’s close.
