Public Works Commissioner Ken Koger summarized pros and cons of allowing Rumpke to bill residents directly and asked the city clerks to contact Rumpke to determine what would need to change for direct billing to occur. No final contract decision was made; clerks were charged to report back with Rumpke’s requirements.
Commissioner Dale Perry reported that the city is currently being charged KU’s GE (general) rate rather than a TE (municipal) rate and said he would continue working with KU to have the rate updated. The minutes record the issue and Perry’s follow-up assignment but do not include a resolution or corrected billing at this meeting.
