Commission waives chili‑cookoff vendor fees, approves county inspection MOU and discusses parking‑lot RFP

Mayor Jennifer Jones said she had spoken with Chief Hendricks and recommended the city allow the county to handle inspections; commissioners voted to accept a Fire Marshall and Inspection MOU with the county on a 4‑0 vote (motion by Commissioner Cody Meadows; second by Commissioner Dale Perry). Mayor Jones said the arrangement would be at no cost to the city.
Commissioner Megan Brown asked whether business‑license fees could be waived for vendors at the chili cook‑off. Commissioner Cody Meadows moved to waive the fees and Commissioner Dale Perry seconded; the motion passed 4‑0.
Commissioners discussed the parking‑lot RFP (noting a typo in the document) and confirmed the RFP remains open until Sept. 30. The survey of the property behind City Hall had been assigned previously to Joel Day, who is no longer available; the commission must find another surveyor. A cell‑site offer from Unison Infrastructure was tabled pending more information.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.; minutes will be considered for approval at the Oct. 9, 2025 meeting.
